My wanna be Samson!

Since the day that my boy was born he has had LOTS of hair! It was his trademark. I always got comments on it from strangers and friends. Well, it is so hot here right now (and humid), so I decided it was time to make him cooler and chop off his lovely mane.

He was born with more hair than he has now since I cut it off. I am having long hair withdraws, but I know that it will grow back. He doesn't look the same. I think that he looks older (and so does daddy), and I don't like that! :) See what you think...

After shearing

He doesn't seem to mind the change. His birthday is coming up in a few weeks,
so I have to get use to many changes to come.
I love you, Bubs! Your sweet, laid-back personality and hugs that you share make me one blessed mommy!

Armed Forces

Always remember our soldiers in your prayers. They are someone's husband, father, son, brother, uncle, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt or friend.

We love you, Jeremy and will miss you dearly. You have left a legacy that matters.
Thank you for living God's will for your life with bravery.

Friends make life sweeter!

I have good memories of my friends when I was little, and I hope they will too.

On to bigger things...

My oldest girl has completed pre-school and will now be in kindergarten! Say it isn't so!!! She is SO ready for the next chapter, though!

This shot was before Jake arrived.

She really liked her teachers, and these wonderful ladies were teaching them God's word along with basic schooling. Their lives are excellent testimonies of faith.

C talks about these two girls all of the time!

Unfortunately, I don't think that C understands that these girls won't be attending school with her next year. I've tried to explain it, but she keeps saying that they have been together this far...

Lord, please give Jake and I the words to help her comprehend the details of life, even when we aren't excited with the outcome. That You have the bigger picture...the best plan. And that we can be excited about that.

Kindergarten here we come!

Where's my baby?!

No, this can't be! My baby boy isn't much of a baby anymore. Don't you just want to scoop him up in kisses?! I do anyway!

I will try to be better at updating the site! Life takes you in different directions! Hopefully, we will be rid of the flu bug soon, and life can resume to our Katzenberger normal! Whatever that looks like, I'm starting to forget.

The list of lasts...

My little guy is three months today, and I want time to stand still for a moment. I just want to savor his sweet baby smell, his little fingers and toes, his cooing and the innocent little smiles that he gives me each day. I think the hardest part is realizing that this will be the last time that we have a three month old. There is a long list of lasts that I get a little teary eyed thinking about.

When I am looking back on my life, I pray that there are not any significant regrets. Parenting is an honor and blessing from our Lord, and even though I am exhausted when each day is done I wouldn't trade it for anything. Father God, I want to leave a legacy that is worth remembering. May I strive to be selfless and joyful and praise You in all I do and say.
